*UPDATE: In these new and challenging times, Bright Stripes is optimistic for the future amid the coronavirus crisis. With approximately 50 million students in K-12 public and private schools in the United States currently home-schooled, we are seizing this as a new opportunity. In the past two weeks, we’ve seen a substantial increase in our online sales with Maisonette and we’re working with Amazon directly to launch our own store by the end of March. We are also investing in our website’s infrastructure and marketing tools to increase sales and the visibility of our digital footprint. On our social channels, we’ve shifted our messaging and activation strategy to reinforce our company strengths, product value, and demonstrate thought leadership around keeping kids engaged. Our retailers have been coming up with creative ways to get their customers goods, so we’ve been processing and shipping orders daily. Our warehouse is fully stocked and there are no plans of shipping disruptions. With our very low overhead business structure we are confident our future will be bright.
We are seeking funding to pay for our most recent shipment of goods which has our some of our best-selling items and our brand new kits. Coming off a strong debut in late 2019, in the first 5 months Bright Stripes has secured upwards of $180K in orders and landed in over 250 stores in the US and Canada. We essentially self-funded the original supply of products and are replenishing our inventory for Spring/ Summer 2020. In the next 2 months, we will be launching our Amazon store as well as a more aggressive campaign to sell into more brick and mortar specialty toy and gift stores, mid-tier chains and Ecommerce accounts.
The buying season for 2020 has just started and we have over 50 sales reps across the US placing orders everyday. In 2020, we plan project earnings of 0.65 - 1 million in sales, and will be doubling our product assortment starting in July of 2020. Looking to 2021, our goal is to get placement in mass accounts like Target and Michael's as well as mid-tier chains across the US.
