Expectations for the Kickfurther community.
Communication is paramount
When things go well, communication is great and, when things are not going as well, communication is essential. Make sure to highlight milestones, tell your buyers about the operations of your business, and, if a payout is going to be less than expected, make sure to explain why. Communication improves trust amongst the Kickfurther community.
Businesses must also create realistic plans by creating Consignment Opportunities that are feasible. This is especially important when deciding the amount of capital and the expected duration of the payout. Always remember, you’re building a relationship with a community of individuals, not a bank. Realistic and conservative plans lead to beating expectations, which leads to gains in credibility.
Participation and trust
A community is only as strong as the people that make it up. For that reason, it is imperative that, as a KF buyer, you treat other buyers and our businesses with respect. There are times when sales will go well and consignments will complete early, and there will be times when sales are less certain and businesses miss expectations. When the business is struggling to make sales, you can help market the products and create sales through your networks.
You get to choose what inventory you buy on Kickfurther. Don’t buy inventory if you don’t think the product will sell at the retail price or if you don’t believe in the value proposition of the brand. If you sell the products you bought, you immediately earn the co-op profit margins on that inventory. Be your own Micro-retailer.

Once a consignment opportunity has been filled, there is a payment processing period of 7 to 10 days. This time period exists because Kickfurther receives buyer capital from various sources to send to businesses. These sources include, but are not limited to, credit cards, and ACH payments. Each of these sources vary in processing times, which is why Kickfurther requires a processing period of 7 to 10 days.
Buyer Payment Timeline
Once a Consignment Opportunity has been filled, there is a lead time wherein businesses are waiting for the inventory to be produced and delivered. When the lead time expires and businesses have received the inventory, the business and the buyers begin selling the inventory. At the end of each thirty days, businesses are required to provide an inventory update and pay for any consignment inventory that has been sold by the business or buyers. Your share of the payout is calculated based on what percent of the total consignment you own.
